Herpes Treatment
Treatment Plan – Dr. Nassir is an experienced doctor trained in General & Internal Medicine, with additional training in the testing and treatment of Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD). For over 15 years he has successfully treated patients with STDs such as HIV, Herpes and Syphilis. Developing a long term treatment relationship with his patients is his goal and is what sets OC STD Center apart from its competitors. Dr. Nassir treats Herpes by prescribing prescription medications as well as topical anesthetic.
Medication – While there is no treatment that can cure Herpes, antiviral medications will shorten and prevent outbreaks during the period of time the person takes the medication.
Analgesics – Analgesics such as ibuprofen and acetaminophen can reduce pain and fever.
Topical Anesthetic – Topical anesthetic treatments when applied directly to an outbreak can relieve itching and pain.
Risks – If left untreated Herpes can increase your chance of getting HIV and can also spread to different parts of the body.
